The NeuRx DPS®
The Permaloc® Electrode
The Permaloc® electrodes have been designed using 316 Stainless Steel and other biocompatible materials with a long history of implantation. The design of the electrodes has been developed with anchoring technology specifically for long term implantation into the diaphragm muscle and laparoscopic delivery.
The NeuRx Diaphragm Pacing System (DPS)®
The NeuRx DPS® consists of four (4) electrodes implanted in the diaphragm to stimulate the muscle, a fifth (5th) electrode under the skin to complete the electrical circuit, a connector holder, a cable and an external battery powered pulse generator. The pulse generator provides the timing and control of stimulus to regulate movement of the diaphragm muscle and affect respiration
The NeuRx® Clinical Station
The NeuRx® Clinical Station has three roles in supporting diaphragm pacing. First, it is connected to the electrodes to provide intra-operative stimulation and sensing of stimulation response and records the diaphragm motor points response to the stimulation. Second, it is used to optimize the Amplitude, Pulse Width, Pulse Frequency, Respiration Rate and Inspiration Interval post operatively. Lastly, it communicates the desired setting to the NeuRx DPS® pulse generator.
The NeuRx DPS® & NeuRx® Clinical Station are manufactured by Synapse Biomedical Inc. in Oberlin Ohio. ISO 13485:2003 certified.
