Understanding the Process for Obtaining a Diaphragm Pacing System

Once you have learned about the groundbreaking neurostimulation technology known as the NeuRx DPS® and its impact for some individuals with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and spinal cord injury (SCI), we understand your interest in how to obtain the device for you or your loved one.

Please know that patients and their families cannot directly order the NeuRx DPS® device, and the implantation procedure must be performed by a board-certified laparoscopic surgeon at specific treatment centers across the country and around the world. However, there are steps you can take now to determine whether the NeuRx DPS® is the best treatment option for you or a loved one.

The process begins with obtaining as much information as possible about the device and its intended use. We recommend watching our Care and Use instructional video to learn more about how the device is used by SCI and ALS patients and their caregivers. Of course, we also recommend discussing this technology with you or your loved one’s personal medical team and treatment providers.
